The Customs Compliance Officer is the guardian of this commitment. In this critical role, you will be our in-house expert on the complex web of international trade regulations, ensuring every shipment moves across borders smoothly and ethically. You are essential to our ability to operate across our 30+ country network, providing the deep market insight that allows us to design agile solutions and empower our clients’ bold promises with complete peace of mind.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Regulatory Expertise: Serve as the primary subject matter expert on customs laws, tariffs, trade agreements, and import/export regulations for key global markets.
  • Tariff Classification and Valuation: Accurately classify products with Harmonized System (HS) codes and ensure proper customs valuation methodologies are applied to all shipments.
  • Compliance Auditing: Conduct regular audits of import and export documentation and internal processes to identify and mitigate compliance risks, ensuring adherence to all legal standards.
  • Process Development: Design, implement, and maintain robust compliance policies and procedures to be used by our global operations teams.
  • Problem Resolution: Act as the lead point of contact for resolving complex customs-related issues, including agency inquiries, customs holds, and post-entry amendments.
  • Advisory and Training: Provide expert guidance and training to internal teams (including logistics coordinators and sales) on trade compliance matters to embed best practices throughout the organization.

Who We Are Looking For

We are searching for an exceptionally thorough and analytical individual who possesses a clear vision of global trade complexities and can anticipate tomorrow’s regulatory challenges today.

  • Required Qualifications & Skills:

    • 5+ years of dedicated experience in a trade compliance or customs brokerage role.
    • A deep and extensive knowledge of customs regulations in major international markets (e.g., North America, EU, UK, and Asia).
    • A valid Customs Brokerage License or equivalent professional certification.
    • Meticulous attention to detail and outstanding analytical and research skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex regulations clearly.
    • The self-discipline and resourcefulness to work effectively in a remote environment.
  • Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience dealing with government agencies like CBP, HMRC, or equivalent bodies.
    • Expertise in specialized areas such as anti-dumping/countervailing duties, free trade agreements, or export controls.
    • Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Law, or a related field.
